Hormones feeling off?? Confused where to start? Wh Hormones feeling off?? Confused where to start? What and how we eat has a huge impact on how our tiny messengers, aka hormones, communicate and how we feel. If you’re feeling like something is off with your hormones the first place to look is how we are nourishing our body.

Try these quick tips to help your hormones start working better. This is a great place to start to remove the sugar imbalance and replenish your system with hormone balancing foods. Our hormones work the way they are designed when we are fully nourished. Save this post for later so you can check back later.

Raise your hand if you deal with habitual PMS, blo Raise your hand if you deal with habitual PMS, bloating, cold hands & feet, gruelling menstrual cramps, irregular periods, foggy head, fatigue or unwanted weight gain.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These might be very common these days but the are not normal. Symptoms are just notes from your body tips one way or the other.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They may be annoying or downright unpleasant, but consider them notes to yourself, messages from your body about where you need to restore balance in order to restore optimal health.
Organs, glands, and cells oh my! These tiny hormon Organs, glands, and cells oh my! These tiny hormones play an integrate part in all of our bodies functions. Your body's organs, glands and cells make these powerful messengers day in and day out from building blocks like cholesterol, amino acids found in protein amor components of fats in your diet.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In women, the endocrine glands that most influence hormone balance are the adrenals, the pituitary, the hypothalamus, the thyroid and the ovaries. Although they are not part of the endocrine system, the liver and the large intestine also play major roles in hormone health.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The liver is the key organ for clearing excess hormones. It also manufactures cholesterol, the starting material for all steroid hormones, The liver decided if a hormone is going to convert to one hormone or another. A healthy liver is the key to hormone balance.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The intestines are involved in hormone balance and detoxification. Together, these many glands and organs can be thought of as an orchestra playing a complex, beautiful, and ever-changing musical work, a "hormonic" symphony.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The pituitary regulates so many hormones that it can be considered the "concert master" of the hormone orchestra, taking instructors from the conductor, the hypothalamus. These two are the master control system of our hormones and through their role and proper functioning they create beautiful hormonal harmony in our body.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But in our over stressed society and "busier is better" mentality, our liver gets stressed, our digestions slows and our master control system aka pituitary/hypothalamus gets lazy or confused. This is a perfect storm for hormonal issues to arise and can lead to many unpleasant symptoms.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Your menstrual cycle is a vital sign, just like yo Your menstrual cycle is a vital sign, just like your pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, and blood pressure - and it provides you with essential information about your health.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In Chinese Medicine we've been using the menstrual cycle as an assessment of health for centuries and we deep dive into during our intakes. Most women just think about their period as the 'main event', but actually ovulation is the true main event of the month. Each week there is a different phase and shift of hormones and when something is off you'll see different symptoms arise.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Best way to understand how your body is doing is by tuning into and tracking the signs of your cycle. Let's call it your period report card. I'm curious do you track your cycle? .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
